Trench Shoring - Linear Shoring

NEUBAU SAMMLER - LINEAR SHORING ENSURES LARGE AND SAFE WORKING SPACE

In the provincial capital of Badajoz, located in the west of Spain, COPISA Constructora Pirenaica is realizing a good 800 meters long collector and several rainwater retention basins. The work, commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, has a volume of almost 13 million euros and the projected construction time is nine months. To secure the excavation pit and construct the collector, the company is using the stepped linear shoring system from E+S, a terra infrastructure product brand.

A decision that pays off not only in terms of safety: In particular, the use of the so-called U-type roller units and the possibility of moving them in height according to the manufacturer's specifications ensures the necessary working space when laying the pipes with large nominal diameters.

Primarily due to forecasts on the development of the number of inhabitants in the large city of Badajoz, the performance of the central wastewater system was to be increased in the long term. There was also a need for action with a view to future heavy rainfall events. Two rainwater retention basins with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters are to ensure that the necessary capacities will be available in the future. In addition, a new DN 2000 collector will be laid over a length of 815 meters. The 5 to 6 meter deep excavation pit with a clear width of 2.75 meters is secured by stepped linear shoring.

To secure the excavation pit, which was up to 6 meters deep, 18 modules of the linear shoring system, each 4 meters long, were used.

Large working space

In Badajoz, a total of 18 modules of the shoring system, each 4 meters long, are used. The use of the U-type roller unit ensures maximum clearance height and thus the greatest possible flexibility on the construction site. The component has excellent static properties and is extremely resilient. Depending on requirements, the roller unit can be moved steplessly in different construction phases in accordance with the static specifications.

Due to its U-shaped design - enormous cantilever lengths are possible - the roller unit makes very large pipe clearance heights possible. This results in many technical and economic advantages for the equipment and vehicles used on the construction site during the installation and removal of the shoring and when working in the excavation pit.

In any case, the construction partners are unanimous in their verdict on the shoring system used: Both the system itself and the good technical advice provided on site helped to reduce costs on the construction site.
