EXTREMELY CRAMPED CONDITIONS WHEN MOVING BERLINER VERBAU IN BERLIN-PANKOW
New residential buildings were built in Berlin on Prenzlauer Promenade. The excavation pit there was secured with Berliner Verbau, which had to be removed again by the customer after completion of the residential buildings in the fall of 2020. In particular, the removal of the H-beams and the associated removal were extremely tricky. There was only one narrow access road where the large excavator could not turn around. Accordingly, it could not turn around with the towed girders and load them onto the waiting truck. In addition, there was the danger posed by HEB 400 girders over 10 meters long if they ever started to swing. Therefore, the initial plan was to burn through the girders and shorten them accordingly. Thanks to MÜLLER Equipment, however, a much more sustainable and economical solution was found.
This demanding task could be solved with the MÜLLER MS-6 HFB SG without cutting through the beams. The compact and lightweight MÜLLER excavator-mounted vibratory pile drivers can be attached to all common excavators. Power is supplied via the on-board hydraulics and control is via the excavator's operating levers. The side grab is particularly advantageous in confined spaces. It does not have to be placed on profiles from above, but grips them from the side and fixes them at the same time. This eliminates the possibility of the pile driving or drawing material swaying.
On the construction site at Prenzlauer Promenade, the side grab was able to grip the H-beams laterally, pull them out of the ground and then place them between the chains of the excavator. The excavator pushed the girders through to the rear, where they were picked up by another excavator and loaded onto a truck.
