Coating

Coatings are the most commonly used form of corrosion protection for steel sheet piles. To avoid any adverse effects on the environment caused by steel dust and spray mist, steel parts should receive the necessary corrosion protection in accordance with the valid regulations and recommendations, if possible before installation. To significantly reduce transport and installation damage, complete coating ex works is recommended.
The choice of coating system depends on the expected stresses and the desired service life (see also DIN EN ISO 12944). Due to the high stresses to which steel sheet piles are usually exposed, epoxy resin or polyurethane coatings are usually used. Coating is also possible without any problems when using the terra interlock seal.
